I first came across The Little Gym when my son, Sam, was a baby. My sister was a member at The Little Gym Amsterdam, and Sam joined his cousin’s class whenever we were in town.

I remember our first visit to The Little Gym Amsterdam. The welcome was warm, the teachers were friendly, and it was bright, clean, and very professional. And I was having great fun with Sam.

I enjoyed my job as an Audit Manager at Ernst & Young. But I started daydreaming about having my own business and found myself doodling ‘The Little Gym’ on my notepad.

The Little Gym had captured my imagination. I’ve always loved spending... Read more

Our Philosophy of

Three Dimensional Learning

At The Little Gym, our environment is fun, but our purpose is serious. That’s why we embrace a proprietary philosophy called Three-Dimensional Learning, in which physical activity is a conduit for nurturing your whole child. The Three-Dimensional Learning approach to skill development means that every class we offer fosters growth in three holistic dimensions—Brain Boost!, Get Moving! and Life Skills! Read on to see how each dimension of learning helps your child grow into a well-rounded, well-adjusted child.

getMovingGet Moving!

Developing flexibility, strength, balance and coordination through varied physical activities.

brainBoostBrain Boost

Nurturing listening skills, concentration and decision-making that benefit your child well beyond the gym.

lifeSkillsLife Skills

Promoting sharing, teamwork, cooperation and leadership through spending time with friends and peers.

40 years of

SERIOUS FUN

An innovative educator, musician and kinesiologist, Robin Wes envisioned a nurturing place where children could explore their physical development while also growing socially, emotionally and intellectually. He opened the first The Little Gym in 1976 in Bellevue, Washington and infused those early classes with the same positive, non-competitive spirit that characterises us today. Forty years later, children in more than 300 locations worldwide experience the Serious Fun of The Little Gym.

We are supporting the

Local Community

In 2015 at The Little Gym Harpenden we chose to support a range of charities, through different events at the gym. From cake sales, funky hat's and walking 13 miles around Central London.

In March the staff and children wore their favourite hat to the gym, to support Brain Tumor Research in 'Wear a Hat Week'.
September our team walked 13 miles in the Cancer Research Shine Walk. They had great fun wearing tutu's and glow sticks!
December we ran quiz's at our members Christmas party in 2016 to raise money for TAMBA, twins and multiple birth association.

June 2017 the staff abseiled the 262ft Olympic Orbit and raised over £2400 for the Children's Trust. We had an amazing time and can't thank everyone enough for sponsoring us and joining us for our fundraising cake sale too!

We are looking for more charities support over the next and coming year... WATCH THIS SPACE!
